WTF? Where have we been?

Holy shit, a blog post.

Where have we been some may ask and a good question to be sure.

The summer was full of activity. Here There Be Monsters played their camo asses off around Brighton in the battle of the bands for Bloodstock making it to the final on vocalist Anthony Giles birthday back in July.

Then it was a little bit of time off before Mammothfest where the guys played with many local favourites along with some top UK acts. I would love to tell you who they all were but out of the billed acts I haven’t a clue who did or didn’t show up.

Regardless, the boys played a blinder and got some good praise.

Shortly after, bassist Rich Langridge announced his departure from HTBM. After some serious soul searching, Rich had decided to move on from Brighton, devestated to leave the boys behind but we wish him well in his new ventures in Derby.

The guys regrouped, started talking about the future and with this we welcome Andy Parker (me, that’s strange to write in 3rd person) as 2nd guitarist for HTBM.

Things are already starting to sound a lot louder and a lot meatier. Meanwhile, we’re on the hunt for the final and 5th member of HTBM.

If you’re a bassist in the Brighton area, auditions are being held on Monday nights, the next series are on Monday 29th November at Warner Studios in Brighton.

Tour Diary: Hulk Smash Tour Gallery

After a long day of editing and picking, we now have a gallery for the tour of live footage with a few randoms chucked in for good measure. There’s still more to come, and they will get added as we go.

You can check this gallery out on Andy Parker’s Flickr stream, http://www.flickr.com/photos/theavangelist

If you are interested in working with Andy (he’s done a bloody amazing job for us this week with the tour diary), you can contact him via his website http://www.avangelistphotography.com or straight on email @ andy@avangelistphotography.com

Unleash The Dogs!!

Yes! Hello! Welcome to the official Black Match Records blog, a record label run by two dedicated members of the Brighton Metal Scene, vocalist Anthony Giles of Here There Be Monsters fame and photojournalist Andy Parker AKA Avangelist Photography.

There’s not much else to say at the moment. The Inherent EP by Here There Be Monsters was released back in February 2010 to great praise and is available via the official HTBM merch shop on CD (there’s also some T-shirts too), and your usual download spots like iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Tescos and the like.

News for April

We are currently nailing down the last two dates on the Hulk Smash tour with Here There Be Monsters and Terrathorn which spans the UK between April 16th – 25th.

We will be putting the full listings up soon.
