BOTB For Bloodstock

Here There Be Monsters will be performing tomorrow night at the rescheduled BOTB for Bloodstock & Wacken at Hectors House in Brighton. The event is organised and sponsored by the guys behind this years Mammothfest, not to be confused with the popular US festival of the same name. The event is happening in Brighton & Hove in September with lots of big names being touted on the line up along with a host of local talent.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any other details at present, all we can say is doors are at 8 and there should be 3 bands giving it their all. Oh and it’s free.

The Gaff, London – Welcome To Barbados, have a nice day

Another great video from the Hulk Smash Tour, this time show closer Welcome To Barbados, Have A Nice Day taken at The Gaff in London 24 April 2010 by Andy Parker for Black Match Records.

We absolutely loved The Gaff, it is one of the coolest places in London by a wide stretch and just around the corner from Emirates stadium which we will keep in future reference.

Tour Diary: The Hydrant, Brighton

Raise your horns!

Wow! What can we say about last night!? Thank you to everyone single one of you who attended the finale of the Hulk Smash tour with Here There Be Monsters and Terrathorn. What a turn out!

You’d think with just one day to go it would have been a bit of relaxation and prep for the big show but not for some.

Ant was up at 7am working on a teaser for the tour diary video which was played before the set to great response from the crowd. Really it was all about PK’s tache we know!

The PC kept crashing (that’s why I use a Mac), some hair was torn out but the end result was worth it.

Gaz spent the day playing Modern Warfare 2 to no real surprise, Rich was busy recovering from a hangover and PK was in the pub watching Glasgow Rangers put the finishing touches on another successful season.

5 star day for PK, Rangers, Booze, Gig

Everyone that played last night were amazing and it was quite special to be able to bring some of the bands we have been with on this tour back to Brighton with us to show how we roll!

A massive thank you to Rich at The Origin Agency and Ali from OpenTage for their help in putting last night’s show on, plus Terrathorn for being a good bunch of lads this week. In addition all the bands we have seen this week, Mask of Judas, Excessum, Hope Of The Hated, Reign UponUs, Rise Of Simians, Lighthouse, and not to forget, although we should No Exit.

Before I leave you with a closing note from Ant, here’s a run down on what’s coming up.

There’s already some photos for the tour on Flickr courtesy of Andy Parker, who was with the guys for the whole tour, There is a special Hulk Smash Tour gallery, this will be updated more over the next few days.

This morning we launched the official Facebook page for Here There Be Monsters, go add yourselves, if the link doesn’t work, you should be able to find them.

We’ve still got some of the tracks from the Inherent EP streaming on myspace and last.fm, and don’t forget you can always buy it on CD from the shop.

The tour video will be released in 4 parts starting from the beginning on next month, so keep coming back.

Tour Diary: The Old Bell, Derby

First day of the Hulk Smash Tour goes smooth like butter.Van is a pile of shit, but hey, you get what you pay for. Several hours spent in Brighton collecting band members, then apparently doing shopping for the next year, and then sitting in the traffic on the M25 only to find more of it on the M1.

Derby is our first stop which turns out is an amazing little town . It would seem drinking is the favored past time and with prices that would make any southerner weep for joy who can blame them.

The Old Bell in Derby, an amazing venue frequented by true rockers hosts tonight’s proceedings. One of two rock bars in the town we are informed, the Bell has a killer space, it’s massive, and the sound is incredible.

The local support are somewhat curious. Lighthouse turn out to be as un-original as their name suggests and not in keeping with the bill are about as AOR, as you can get. Female vocalist, acoustic guitars, they didn’t belong here today, but they did pull in a fair few people, who promptly left as Terrathorn began a smeltering set. The guys will now be joining us for 5 of the dates this week including tomorrow night on their home turf of Winchester and The Gaff in London next weekend.

The turn out is good, and HTBM blitz a solid set featuring some new tunes. We got shit loads of video and pics already but you’ll have to hold on until we get a decent internet connection.

Tour Dates – Here There Be Monsters

Here There Be Monsters will be on tour at the end of April with Terrathorn, to grease the wheels a little, they will be playing with the rather insane and very bright Aghast, at Dublin Castle, Camden, on Monday 12th April.

Check out the amazing Aghast on myspace.

Here’s what Dublin Castle say:

AGHAST!- Super nasty thrash metal with a healthy punk element and some genuinely challengingly speedy riffology…powerful stuff. Lots of great reviews in the metal press-inc Terrorizer , lots of myspace plays, lots of fun for all. A full on metal attack assured.

HERE BE MONSTERS – After the troll ridden novel by Alen Snow? Suitably fabulous, fantastic heavy rock..

ELEMENTS OF REFUSAL - Prog-ish metallers a la Sikth. Lots of stop/start time changes, a new semi gargling escaped loon takes on the old sore throat vocal style. Momentarily wondering about the qualities here soon passes by and  it’s a growing on you before you can possibluy doubt them. Like Black Flag meets Yes via Metallica- a strangely wonderful thing!

Don’t know Dublin Castle? Well here is the skinny:
